Our Story

BiLinguix® - Director & Owner

“Welcome to our Learning Community!

As the founder and owner of BiLinguix®, I serve as director and administrator for the English, Spanish, German, French and Mandarin programs.
I am a fully bilingual and bicultural native Spanish communications professional from Emerson College in Boston, a Harvard graduate in Management (Policy, Planning and Operations) and have recently completed Sociology studies at Princeton University. I am originally from Colombia, South America and have lived in the United States, my beloved amazing adoptive home, for about 20 years!

I discovered my passion for education while participating in the NCLB (No Child Left Behind) program helping more than 50 underprivileged children attending underperforming schools improve their grades and CRCT test scores in language arts and math.  My care for children inspired me to become one of the founders and contributors in the development of a Childhelp USA chapter as Officer/Publicity Chairperson.  Now, as a volunteer for the Schools and Scholarships Committee for the Harvard Admissions Office, I am thrilled to share that two of ‘my kids’ (or should I say… students) I recently interviewed and recommended for admission have been indeed accepted to Harvard!  My team's solid experience, enthusiasm and accomplishment in helping others reach their full potential combined with a love of languages led me to the founding of BiLinguix®

I am also the owner and founder of VOXPopuli Group, a marketing consultancy that contributes to the multilingual corporate communications efforts of mid and large corporations.  As one of my favorite hobbies is sharing ideas with ‘thinkers’ from different corners of the world, I understand the value of early childhood education and its positive impact on children, families and communities.  I consider myself a patient and creative individual who strongly believes that all children deserve the opportunity to be exposed to different cultures and learn a second language!

Thank you for your interest in BiLinguix®
We are looking forward to contributing to your educational learning experience!"
Sincerely,
Lina M. Ardila

Maria Fernanda - Spanish Teacher

"My name is Maria Fernanda, but kids use to call me Nanda or Maria.  I was born and raised in Colombia so Spanish is my native language.  I am a Business Administrator and I am about to complete my MBA program at Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) in Marietta, GA.

I have a natural love for children and have experience taking care and teaching Spanish to kids of all ages for many years.  Additionally, I am very good with numbers and have also tutored all levels math and finance to children and adults.

Shufen

Mandarin & English Teacher

"Hi, my name is Shu-Fen and I am a native Mandarin speaker, born and raised in Taiwan. I earned my bachelor degree in education in Taiwan and worked as a high school English teacher from 2006-2011. I moved to the United States in December 2011 to marry my husband. Also, I have recently completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mercer University in Atlanta.

In addition to my experience as an associate at World Financial Group, helping families and individuals create customized financial planning and insurance policies, I have a passion for assisting adults and children who need help with language learning (English and Mandarin).

Global vision is an essential element for people to prepare themselves as leaders in this generation. The world is becoming smaller and I regard it as a pleasure to connect people from different parts of the world through language learning."

Ginger

Mandarin Chinese, English & Spanish Teacher

“My name is Ginger and I'm a trilingual young professional with a life-long passion for education. I received my bachelor's degree, highest honors, in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and afterward I taught biology and Mandarin Chinese at an independent boarding school in north Georgia and at a state-funded summer program in New Hampshire.
I speak English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. I love to learn new things, and I love to help other people learn as well. I strive to help all students reach their potential so that they can have the opportunity to impact the world in a positive way of their own making.

I believe that it is vital for people of all ages to be well-rounded and well-traveled in order to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world. I have a scientific mind and outlook, but I also enjoy experiencing and creating all forms of art, especially music and cinema. I played violin and piano for several years (and still do), and I have traveled all over the world.”

Barbara

German & Spanish Teacher

"Hello, my name is Barbara and I’m originally from Frankfurt am Main in Germany.
I earned a Master Degree in Romanic and German Philology from J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. I was fortunate to spend one semester at the University in Salamanca, Spain where I polished my knowledge of Spanish language and culture.

Since I was a little girl, I always was very curious to learn other languages and explore foreign cultures. I believe knowing foreign languages opens so many opportunities and expands our horizons.

I moved to USA in 2001. Teaching was always my passion. I have taught Spanish and German in Dallas, TX and Atlanta. I love my job and really enjoy interacting with my students. I use my extended travel experience to make my lessons more colorful and talk about the cultural aspects as well.  In my free time I love to spend time with my 11 years old daughter, travel, read, cook and dance."
